NEWS CENTRE - KNK called on all Kurdish parties, organisations and personalities to act with national duty and responsibility during the period of attacks against North and East Syria.

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Executive Council made a written statement on the developments in Syria, North and East Syria and Rojava.

The statement said: "The developments in Syria and North and East Syria in the last 10-12 days have ended and destroyed Assad's Baath regime. Opposition forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and some groups under the control of the Turkish state have taken control of a large part of Syrian territory. During the war and clashed, Til Rifaat and Shahba regions were occupied by the groups affiliated with Turkey, tens of thousands of local people were displaced again, and now they are heading towards Manbij region with the intention of occupation. The aim and goal of Turkey and the gangs under its control is to occupy the entire Rojava region. The developments in Syria have created a new situation. Although it has brought the end of the Assad regime, the danger and threats to the people of Rojava have increased; it can lead to massacres and human tragedies, and destroy the gains of the Kurdish people. The aim of the Turkish state is to occupy Rojava Kurdistan and the massacre and demographic change in the region is on the main agende of the occupying Turkish state and it shows this effort in every area."

CALL FOR DIALOGUE

The statement pointed out that despite all the threats and concerns against Rojava Kurdistan, a new page has been opened with the recent developments and said: "We hope that the developlments and changes in Syria will form the basis for solving the problems through dialogue and mutual understanding. We also expect all parties to peacefully reach an agreement that will benefit all components.

The Turkis state is preparing for comprehensive attacks. Currently, the Turkish state is attacking Manbij both from the ground and from the air. Its goal is to start from here and advance towards Rojava For this, our people need to struggle in four parts and abroad.

At this historical stage, Kurdish politics mus priotitise natonal interests above all else and mobilise its diplomatic circles to make gains in Rojava and North and East Syria. All parties and organisations in Kurdistan should make statements in support of Rojava.

On the other hand, it must fulfil its national duties by providing urgent humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of refugees. This i a national and historical responsibility. The destructin of the gains of Rojava Kurdistan is also the destruction of the gains and status of Bashur Kurdistan. We hope that all Kurdistan parties, organisations, institutions and personalities and the Kurdish people will consider our call as a national duty and act with a national duty and responsibility."
