ANKARA- The incident happened in Sincan Juvenile Detention Center where 6 children and 14 guards have been injured is being hidden from the public. While Ankara Bar is making official complaints about the authorities, İHD MYK Member Nilay Nayman said their initiatives with the Ministry of Justice and the prison administration remained inconclusive.
The efforts of Ankara Bar Commission on Monitoring Prison Problems and Child Rights Center and Humans Rights Association (İHD) to see the children is being stonewalled by the prison administration.
In the application made by the Bar Association to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, after the incident interviews with the children showed maltreatment to the children.
In the application, it was noted that their interviews with children were prevented by saying that prisoners are children, they are under custody, they will not be interviewed without the consent of the children's guardians or the permission of the Ministry of Justice.
