NEWS CENTER - Baloch people living in Balochistan province of Pakistan took to the streets in 20 cities against the arbitrary deportation and torture of Baloch people in prisons.
The protests that started on 21 March against Pakistan's oppression and ignoring policies against Baloch continue. Many Baloch activists who participated in the protests and were arrested and imprisoned on different dates were subjected to pressure and torture.
Baloch Unity Committee (BYC) members Dr Mahrang Baloch, Beebow Baloch and Gulzadi Baloch, who made public the torture in prison through their letters, were transferred from Huda Prison in Ketta to other prisons on 24 April without informing their families. Prison authorities did not inform the families about the transfers.
RESISTANCE AGAINST OPPRESSION
In response to this, mass demonstrations were organised in 20 cities of Balochistan with the call of BYC. The protests emphasised the demand for an end to the political and economic oppression against Baloch and the release of hundreds of Baloch arrested during the 35-day protests.
The BYC, in a statement on its virtual media accounts, emphasised that the demonstrations were a message to the state institutions that they would not submit to oppression and authoritarianism.
