RIHA - During the vigil against the appointment of trustees in Xelfetî, a historical message was given with the banner “Imaginary trusteeship is enamoured here”.
The vigil against the appointment of a trustee to the municipality in Xelfetî (Halfeti) district of Riha (Urfa) continues its fifth day. The masses keeping vigil in front of the blockaded municipality building continue to wait with Kurdish halay songs. A banner with a historical message to the trustee was hung in the resistance area directly opposite the municipality building.
In response to the pruning of the only tree in the area by the municipality teams on the grounds that it “restricted the police's view of the watch area” on the order of the trustee, a banner was hung on the tree, visible from the municipality building, with a drawing of its grave on it, saying “Imaginary trusteeship is enamoured here”.
In the issue of Milliyet newspaper published on September 19, 1930, after the Agirî Rebellion, a reference was made to a caricature on a gravestone with the words “Imaginary Kurdistan is enamoured here”.
