Hatice İnal, who makes her living by making coffee with the kezwan she collects at the foothills of Cûdî and Gabar Mountains, said: “Our business has slowed down due to tree cutting. Because kezwan trees are also being cut down.”
Citizens who condemned the destruction of nature with dynamite in the Cûdî Mountain region for the mines of AKP member Süleyman Bölünmez, demanded that the work in question be stopped as soon as possible.
Dynamite exploded around the quarry established for the construction of military towers and new roads on Cûdî Mountain is causing ecological destruction.
Botan geography is being plundered by dams built for "security" reasons, forests cut down and mining companies. Şirnex Ecology Movement Co-Spokesperson Adnan Şenbayram said: "While Kurdistan is being depopulated, the memory of people is also lost."
