Latest developments in the case of missing Gülistan Doku

NEWS CENTER – While significant developments continue in the case of Gülistan Doku, who has been missing in Dêrsim (Tunceli) since 2020, an investigation has been launched against the former Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel. 

After six years, there have been important developments in the investigation of Gülistan Doku, who went missing in Dêrsim on January 5, 2020. On April 13, Thirteen people were detained, including Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of Tuncey Sonel, and a former polica officer. 
 
Gökhan Ertok, a former police officer, who was found to have inserted the SIM card into Gülistan Doku's phone and deleted some information, was charged with "Destruction, concealment, or alteration of evidence" and "Unauthorised Modification of Data" Erdoğan Elaldı, a former Provincial Special Administration Officer, who denied all charges against him, was arrested on the charge of "Deliberate Killing."
 
Munzur University’s camera supervisors Süleyman Önalan and Savaş Gültürk, whose statements were taken, were also released on judicial control conditions after their testifies were taken by the judge. 
 
Today, 7 people whose testify procedures were completed at the gendarmerie were brought to the courthouse, while the main suspect, Mustafa Türkay Sonel, and the governor’s bodyguard Şükrü Eroğlu are kept waiting at the gendarmerie. 
 
While the detainees were brought to the courthouse, the family reacted by saying, “You are all murderers.” Mother Bedriye Doku and sister Şilan Doku fainted. 
 
An investigation was also launched by the Ministry of Interior against the main suspect, the governor of the time, Tuncey Sonel. 
 
Gülistan Doku's family and lawyer Ali Çimen have been frequently expressing the arrest of Tuncay Sonel for a long time, saying that he was the planner of the whole incident and that he was the primary person in Gülistan's disappearance.
 
Lastly, it was revealed that the images requested for the Gülistan Doku file from the police and the vehicle detection records were not delivered to the prosecutor.
