Governor Sonel suspended in the scope of Gülistan Doku case

DÊRSIM – Within the scope of the missing Gülistan Doku case, the former Governor Tuncay Sonel has been suspended. 
 
In the Gülistan Doku case, on April 13, thirteen people, including the son of the former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, Mustafa Türkay Sonel, were detained. 
 
For days, calls were made for Governor Sonel to be suspended and arrested; following the investigation launched against him, Governor Sonel has been suspended. The Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that “suspicion of crime has been reached” against Sonel and wrote to a writ to the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Proceedings were initiated to take the necessary action against Sonel for the crimes of “Destruction, concealment, or alteration of evidence". It was pointed out that Sonel’s son is in custody on charges of “Deliberate Killing”, “Sexual Assault” and “Destruction, concealment, or alteration of evidence”.
