ANKARA - U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack met with Defence Minister Yaşar Güler. In a message released after the meeting, Barrack said that the parties are working towards reintegration. 

 

U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, posted a noteworthy message on his social media account after his meeting with Defence Minister Yaşar Güler.  

 

In his message, Barrack said: "The United States remains in close contact with all parties in Syria, working around the clock to lower the temperature, prevent escalation, and return to integration talks between the Syrian government and the SDF.”

 

Barrack met with Defence Minister Yaşar Güler after publishing this message. The meeting was also attended by Chief of General Staff Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu and numerous military officials and bureaucrats from both sides. 

 

Today, he met with the Defence Minister, who has declared his support for Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

 

Barrack had previously met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
