Kobanê Health Authority takes action over death of 8-month-old baby 2026-02-12 14:42:35 NEWS CENTER - The Health Authority has taken action against a private hospital in Kobanê (Kobani) demanding money from the family of an 8-month-old baby who lost his life.    The siege in Kobanê has been ongoing for 24 days. The harsh living conditions caused by the siege have affected children and women the most. Most recently, an 8-month-old baby named Xelîl Mislim lost his life. The baby's grandmother told a TV station that the hospital would release her grandson's body for $400. The family took out a loan and retrieved the body.    Sources speaking to Ajansa Welat (Kurdish News Agency based in Turkey) on the matter provided details of the incident.     It emerged that Emel Private Hospital, which operates in Kobanê, had demanded money from the family. Upon hearing of the incident, the Kobanê Health Authority took action. It was noted that the Health Authority was looking into the family and the incident.
