Operation against Antalya Metropolitan Municipality: 17 detained

	NEWS CENTER - The crackdown on CHP-led municipalities continues. Within the scope of the investigation against Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, 17 of 20 people for whom a detention warrant was issued were detained. 

	 

	On the other hand, a trustee was appointed to Antalya-based "Kanal V" television channel within the scope of the operation. Business people and municipality bureaucrats are also among those for whom detention warrants have been issued.

	 

	WHAT HAPPENED?

	 

	Within the scope of the "bribery" investigation initiated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek and his former daughter-in-law Zeynep Kerimoğlu were detained, and his son Gökhan Böceği was determined to be abroad.

	 

	Muhittin Böcek, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested on 5 July, while Zeynep Kerimoğlu was released with a ban on leaving the country and a judicial control condition.

	 

	Böcek was suspended from office after the decision.

	 

	Muhittin Böcek's son Gökhan Böcek was also arrested on 20 August.
