179 people executed in a month 2025-08-26 16:16:20   NEWS CENTER -The Iranian regime executed at least 197 people in August    Every Tuesday in Rojhilat (East Kurdistan) and Iran, as part of the "No to Execution on Tuesday" campaign, a demonstration against executions in prisons is organised. In its 83rd week of action, the campaign, in response to the executions said: "197 people have been executed in Rojhilat Kurdistan and Iran this month."   'SPEAK OUT AGAINST DEATH PENALTY'   In the statement, it was stated that 197 people were executed in August, and it was noted that executions continue to be carried out in all cities and regions of Iran. It was stated: "The Iranian government wants to keep the society under fear through executions and violence. Execution is not a solution; it is a clear violation of human rights. This method is a tool to silence dissenting voices and suppress political circles. We clal on international institutions and organisations, as well as activists and freedom supporters, to speak out against the death penalty."   The "No to Execution on Tuesday" campaign was founded on 9 January 2023 as a reaction movement against the execution of prisoners in Rojhilat Kurdistan and Iran. Members of the campaign organise hunger strike actions and statements every Tuesday.
