Buldan calls for İmralı: Our interlocutor is the state, a statement should be made immediately 2022-11-30 12:23:49   ANKARA - HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan mentioned the fact that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan refused to meet with the CPT delegation and said, “Our interlocutor is the Ministry of Justice, the state. The Minister of Justice and the government should immediately make a statement.”   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly convened at the party's Headquarters additional Building in Balgat. The Imrali isolation and the AKP-MHP government's air strikes against Northern and Eastern Syria are on the agenda of the Party Assembly. The Party Assembly will also determine its strategy for the Presidential and General Elections and discuss the candidate profile.   HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan spoke at the Party Assembly meeting. Referring to the AKP-MHP's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria, Buldan said, "We witnessed a bomb attack targeting civilians in Taksim a few weeks ago. Question marks regarding this attack remain up-to-date. Even though there are so many contradictions, we are faced with a government that seeks victory through war."   NO NEWS FROM ABDULLAH ÖCALAN   Referring to the isolation imposed upon PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Buldan said: “This country has to witness the unlawfulness and injustice of the isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan. Despite the fact that we have not heard from Mr. Öcalan and other political prisoners since March 3, 2020, we see that the isolation is getting deeper and the calls made by thousands are ignored. On March 25, 2021, his phone call with his brother was cut off, and he has not been heard from since then."   'OUR INTERLOCUTOR IS THE STATE'   Asrın Law Office announced yesterday to the Turkish public that the CPT went to İmralı and that Mr. Öcalan refused to meet with the CPT delegation. The information that Mr. Öcalan did not meet with the CPT delegation once again deepened our concerns. This issue should be clarified urgently, we expect the authorities to make a statement as soon as possible. Our interlocutor is the Ministry of Justice, the state. As the Co-Chairs, the application we made a while ago to go to Imrali Island is still pending on the table of the Minister of Justice. We were not given any positive or negative answer. Everyone has to take this issue seriously. The Minister of Justice and the government should immediately make a statement."   CPT MUST DISCLOSE INFORMATION   The CPT should immediately disclose the information it has and should not be a partner in these unlawful practices of the government. I want to make this call to the CPT as well. As the HDP, we will continue our efforts until this issue is clarified and until the lawyers' application is accepted.”
