Relatives of Kurdish family murdered in Konya: We were attacked because we are Kurdish 2021-08-02 13:00:21 KONYA - Relatives of Dedeoğlu family slaugtered as a result of a racist attack in Konya gave their statement to the prosecutor on May 28 and said they were under constant threat because they are Kurdish.  In the racist attack on the Dedeoğulları family on 30 July in the Meram district of Konya, 7 people, including 4 women, were killed. The murderer, Mehmet Altun, who carried out the attack on the Kurdish family from Kars, has not been caught yet, although 4 days have passed since the attack. Although the government said there was hostility between the Dedeoğlu family and their attackers, the relatives of the family said on their statement to the prosecutor's office on May 12 they were subjected to constant threats because they were Kurdish.   FAMILY WAS THREATENED BY THE 'GREYWOLVES'   Barış Dedeoğulları, who was killed in the attack, gave his statement to the police station on May 12, and said: "Keleş and Çalık family living in our neighborhood came into our house breaking down doors with clubs in their hands, my brother Metin Dedeoğlu confronted them. They were hitting him with their clubs when I walked in. They said, "We are the Greywolves. We won't let you live here". They attacked me and my sister with iron sticks. My sister Serpil Dedeoğlulları managed to call the police and they ran." The family filed a criminal complaint against the attackers.    The family was subjected to verbal threats of the relatives of the attackers. Calling the police to file a criminal complaint, Serpil Dedeoğulları told that the attackers told them they wouldn't mind if she'd called the police and that they would be protected whatever they did. Dedeoğulları said the attackers told them they would annihilate them no matter what. All family members filed in criminal complaints individually against the attackers.    In the statement the family gave to the Konya Prosecutor's Office, they told that they were targeted because they are Kurdish.
